My name is Melanie Johnson, I am 30 years old and have a son, Oliver, born in June 2009. We live together with my husband Chris in our semi-detached home in Kenfig Hill. We have a family pet dog called Scruffy, who is well socialised with adults and children, who has his own areas in both the house and garden.
As a registered childminder I aim to provide a childminding service that allows boys and girls to learn and develop in a safe, secure, home-based environment. Play will be at the centre of the child’s learning and development, and a wide range of activities and experiences appropriate to the age and stage of development will be offered. |

I provide a range of activities including art and craft, story telling, singing and musical instruments, role play, construction toys and jigsaws. We will also make regular trips to the local park, soft play, shops and library. My first language is English, although I don’t speak welsh I will encourage the use of basic welsh during play activities where appropriate. |

I can drop off and pick up from Mynydd Cynffig Infant School, I may also be able to arrange drop off pick up from many other local schools/preschool, this can be discussed on an individual basis. |

I am registered with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales to care for up to 6 children under the age of 8 at any one time including my own son. Of those 6 children, no more than three may be under 5 years of age, normally no more than two may be under 18 months of age.
I can also offer out of school care for children over the age of eight. My service is open to all children and families and I may be able to care for children with additional needs. | | |
